I.T. INNOVATION FOR CHINESE COMPANIES

"Made-in-China" has been another buz word these days as China made products continue to swamp like floods to the rest of the world. However, in the computer I.T. hardware industry, it is a different kind of story. It is the high end, technology intensive products which swamp from countires like USA, Japan, and Korea to China first, then the labor intensive factories in China assemble the parts and final products with a "Made-in-China" sticker swamp to the rest of the world under well-known brands such as HP, Dell, Sony, NEC, Gateway, Acer, Asus. In fact, last year's Chinese statistics shows only about 10% of china's so called high tech peoducts were really Made-in-China by Chinese workers and the 90% balance were only assembled in China. Is "China threat" really true in the science and technology arena now? How can China and Taiwan innovate their IT industries by benchmarking other successful countries? This platform aims at discussions and debates and I welcome your precious comments and ideas.
